Getting to Saundersfoot
Driving to Saundersfoot
The roads to Saundersfoot have improved considerably in recent years, however at peak holiday times the roads can become congested. The following journey times assume no significant delays and should be used as a guide only. From London (4 hours), from Birmingham (3 hours 45 minutes), from Cardiff (2 hours), From Swansea (1 hour 15 minutes).
Do take care not to exceed the speed limit as the police operate using mobile speed cameras in vans along all the popular holiday routes.
Directions from the Midlands and the north of England
Take the M5 south to Junction 8, immediately past Strensham Services onto the M50
Travel the length of the M50, to Junction 4 near to Ross-on-Wye and take the A40 towards Monmouth.
7 miles past Monmouth, take the turning to Raglan and Abergavenny (NB - this is still the A40)
Carry on to the A465, signposted Merthyr Tydfil, Neath and Swansea.
The A465 will join the M4 at Junction 43, where you can follow the remaining directions below.
Directions from London, Cardiff and Swansea
Take the M4 West to Junction 49, and then the A48 towards Carmarthen.
On arriving in Carmarthen, turn left at the second roundabout onto the A40, signposted St Clears.
From St Clears, take the A477 for approximately 11 miles and then the A478 towards Tenby.
There is a left turning for Saundersfoot in Pentlepoir or continue to the roundabout at New Hedges for the main road into the town.
Car Parking in Saundersfoot
Some hotels and campsites have their own car parks, and there is also a limited amount of on-road parking, but it is far easier to head for one of the designated public car parks and leave your car there.view a Map of Car Parks in Saundersfoot.
